I studied English Literature and Comparative Religious Studies in Berlin, and spent a year abroad studying English and Scottish Literature at the University of Edinburgh. I received my PhD at Free University of Berlin, where I have been assistant professor, teaching a variety of courses on English literature, from Christopher Marlowe to Romantic Poetry. I am interested in cultural history, European and Asian spiritual traditions, and the arts. My areas of research include Protestantism, early modern English literature, Romanticism, and the work of Carl Gustav Jung.
