Mateja Ristic is an interdisciplinary polymedia artist, researcher, and Associate Professor with more than two decades of experience across higher education, contemporary art, and multimedia production. He earned his Ph.D. in Polymedia Art at the University of Arts in Belgrade under joint supervision with Birmingham City University and University College Cork. His work bridges critical theory and artistic practice, exploring the interplay between image, sound, performance, and technology.

Risti? has held teaching positions in Serbia and China, where he has developed and delivered original curricula in multimedia creation, digital art, photography, and fine arts. His pedagogical focus lies in fostering conceptual thinking, media fluency, and socially responsive creativity through experimental methodologies.

As a practicing artist, Risti? remains actively engaged with the international art scene. His recent work has been exhibited in prominent museums and contemporary art spaces across China, including solo and group exhibitions in Shanghai, Changsha, Wuhu, and Zhengzhou. He is the founder of the Encyclo art collective and co-founder of ENC Media Production, operating between Belgrade and Shanghai, where he continues to explore themes of media saturation, social narrative, and polymedia dramaturgy.
